Making the choice to continue your education can be a very difficult decision to make. I had worked for Kellogg’s Company for 20 years and decided to go back to school to become a massage therapist and a registered nurse.

This decision took many months of planning, and several years to obtain that goal. Looking back at the experience, I don’t know how I did it. However, I did accomplish my goal and more. One of the greatest challenges I faced was time management, and the financial responsibilities of life, and paying for my education as I went to school. My suggestions to anyone planning on higher education would be to create a map of where you want to be at a certain time in life, and how you plan to get there. I would also suggest a contingency plan in the event your plans are altered.

Looking back at my nursing educational journey, I realized I could have utilized different resources to obtain my goal with less stress, and a better educational experience. One of my suggestions would be the Saunders Comprehensive Review for the NCLEX-RN Examination. I had waited until I graduated before I started using this book. Looking back, I should have used this book while I was preparing for each exam during school.
